This course will begin with an introduction to a few Old Testament texts (the story of Moses, Isaiah, the Psalms), which are highly exalted in the New Testament tradition and hence serve to bridge the two traditions. Then the course will go on to offer lectures on the major texts of the New Testament, which are: the four gospels, Acts, the major letters of Paul (Romans, 1& 2 Corinthians, Philippians, 1 & 2 Thessalonians), James, 1 & 2 Peter, 1 John, Revelation. The major issues covered will be: What is the NT view of life and salvation? What are the main features of the New Testament tradition? Who is Jesus Christ? What is resurrection? What is the view of history presented by the New Testament? What is the relation between the two Testaments?
